If you bring it, we will drink it.
From www.slugs.us, "We will also have our 3rd annual, "If you bring it, we will drink it" party on September 29th at the Holiday Inn. Please bring the stuff you don't want to drink and we will find someone who probably will! This is also a great way to meet us and fellow players!"
Hope to see many of you there!

"Hellenistic Period (323-30 BCE) The city of Carthage at its largest extent. By the end of the fourth century, about 200, 000 people were living there--an extraordinary number for cities in the ancient world."

Rome Revealed
HBO has a behind the scenes section on their website for the series Rome:
Rome Revealed
Although it is set 300 years after our game in a different civilization, I think some of the background information can give you a feel of the mindset of those that lived in a pre-Christian culture. I am especially fond of the, "The Gods are out to Get You," section.
